EMW Women’s Surgical Center has its day in court.”
WASHINGTON D.C. (03-29-2021) – Students for Life of America President praised Kentucky legislators along with Kentucky’s Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron who heroically joined efforts to defend Kentucky’s ban on dismemberment abortions after the state’s Democratic Governor Andy Beshear refused to defend the law in court, signed by his predecessor, Matt Bevin.
Noted in Politico: “If the justices side with Cameron, it could open the door for more state officials to defend abortion laws when their governors choose not to do so.”
“For years, the defenders of Corporate Abortion have pushed the narrative that unfettered abortion should be the law of the land because of their hold on courts, but when an actual law is in place, the abortion lobby and its allies refused to engage,” observed Hawkins. “While this case looks at who can defend the matter, what is worth celebrating is that people in statehouses across the country are working to defend life in law. Students for Life looks forward to making our voices heard as this case proceeds.”
