Population Collapse Threatens Human Civilization – So Why Are the Democrats So Keen on Making it Worse?

American voters who are critical of the Biden-Harris Administration’s terrible immigration policies will hear that we need more immigrants to backfill America’s labor force. Or, to do the jobs that Americans won’t do or to offset the fact that American families aren’t having kids.

(Democrats could consider not making it harder.)

This response hints at the long-discussed falling birth rates in most “Western” industrialized nations. America, for example, has a birth rate of 1.6 – well below replacement levels. According to reporting on the issue by Politico, “Those are some of the long-term economic consequences demographers and economists say the U.S. could face if Donald Trump makes good on a central tenet of his campaign platform — significantly cutting immigration levels and increasing deportations.

The reason why curtailing immigration would send such large shockwaves through the American economy isn’t simply because the nation would be deprived of the economic benefits of immigration. It’s because the effect would be amplified by a much more deeply ingrained and long-term trend that’s starting to surface more frequently in political discourse — the consequences of a shrinking population as fewer American families decide to have children.”

Notice what else was missing from this discussion? The issue of abortion. Since Roe was unleashed in1973, more than 65 million babies have lost their lives to intentional abortion. How do you quantify the impact that killing over one million people a year for 50 years would have on America’s population growth and economic prosperity?

Well, a June 2022 House Ways and Means report illustrated that loss of life caused by abortion (shrinking America’s potential population by 20%), has also translated to nearly $7 trillion of lost economic potential.

This problem takes on a new urgency when you consider the ease and access to abortion through the availability and dissemination of Chemical Abortion Pills.

You can blame the Democrats for that too.

The Biden-Harris Administration’s abuse of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) during COVID-19 set up the No Test, Online Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills. Now, the pills are widespread to the point where now over 60% of all abortions in America happen with these drugs, according to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute.

Is it any wonder then that America and other global power nations like China, Germany, Japan, and South Korea are facing a cliff from which there may be no possible recovery?

That dystopian nightmare sounds like science fiction – but from The Economists to Elon Musk, the alarms are being sounded about the impact that falling birth rates have on the world.

Musk has said, “We should be much more worried about population collapse. If there aren’t enough people for Earth, then there definitely won’t be enough for Mars.”

Even The Economist, hardly a bulwark of right-wing or conservative thought, has admitted that population collapse poses a major challenge. “Sooner or later, therefore, every big economy will collide with a demographic wall. The bill from pensions and hospitals will pile on fiscal pressure. Sapped of workers and ideas, economic growth could collapse while public debt balloons.”

In the short term, abolishing abortion and ensuring that our ruling class doesn’t make it impossible to afford or start families is a good start.

Having more babies really is a good thing after all.  Our leaders need to help us make that happen.
