Don’t look now, but one of our predictions from last year may be coming true. In November 2023, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) wrote an article outlining the potential ways that they could replace Joe Biden on the ticket for the Democrat Party. At the time, we said “only about 40% of Americans approve of the job Biden is doing as president and only a quarter say he has the stamina and sharpness to serve effectively. Add to that his family’s legal troubles, and it’s obvious rough days could be ahead.”

Those days are now here.
Since that piece was written, Biden has continued to drop in the polls. Hunter Biden has been charged, and Biden gave one of the most disastrous debate performances in modern history.
Time Magazine had a cover that simply said “panic.”
On the flip side, Donald Trump scored two major victories this week, with a major U.S. Supreme Court ruling upholding Presidential immunity and his conviction hearing in New York moved back to September.
It’s no surprise then that the Joe Biden needs to be replaced argument has gained steam. The Washington Post has a running tally on the Democrats that have openly called for him to drop out, to say nothing of the bevvy of thought pieces and op-eds running in mainstream liberal news outlets calling for the same.
Yet, the Democrat Party seems to be intent on plowing ahead – according to the New York Post:
“The Democratic National Committee is considering naming President Biden the party’s 2024 nominee nearly a month before the DNC convention, according to a report Monday — a move that could curb talk of replacing the 81-year-old commander in chief on the ticket. The DNC is eyeing July 21 as the potential date to formally nominate Biden, according to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the matter.”
UPDATE (7.17.24): The NY Post reported that this time-frame is looking increasingly likely.
Yet, all may not be what it seems. Again, as we noted in the November 2023 article: “According to their 2024 DNC Convention procedural rules: “Filling a Vacancy on the National Ticket: In the event of death, resignation or disability of a nominee of the Party for President or Vice President after the adjournment of the National Convention, the National Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee shall confer with the Democratic leadership of the United States Congress and the Democratic Governors Association and shall report to the Democratic National Committee, which is authorized to fill the vacancy or vacancies.” (Emphasis added.)
Let’s assume that replacing him is the end-goal – that means getting to the nomination as fast as possible is key. The sooner they can confirm Joe Biden as the nominee, the sooner the DNC can move to find his replacement without any messy floor fights at the convention.
At the time of the original piece, we postulated that California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, or Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer would be likely replacement picks. This seems to be true now as well, though Vice President Kamala Harris’ stock has risen, as has former First Lady Michelle Obama’s.
There’s one thing worth noting, however.
The Democrats LOVE abortion enough to make it the cornerstone of their re-election strategy in 2024. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have made plenty of campaign stops focused exclusively on that issue. Biden’s 2024 State of the Union Speech before Congress made abortion the focal point of the evening.
Even the Democrats signature healthcare law, the Women’s Health Protection Act, would allow abortions to be conducted up until birth nationwide, without any ability for the states to push back, demanding taxpayer funding, and trampling on the conscience rights of medical professionals.
It’s clear that regardless of who the Democrats pick as their replacement for President Biden, assuming they’re smart enough to do so, that person will be just as much of a rabid pro-abortionist as Biden ever was.
