More than a dozen states now don’t have abortion vendors, according to reporting from The Guardian. According to the article:

“Dozens of independently owned reproductive health clinics shuttered in 2023, the year after the US supreme court overturned Roe v Wade, according to a new report from the Abortion Care Network.

“The group found that 23 independently owned clinics closed this year, on top of the 42 that shuttered in 2022, leaving over a dozen states, mainly in the American south and midwest, without a single brick-and-mortar clinic that provides abortion.

This is, of course, excellent news – however, according to data by CNN, only a handful of states have completely restricted abortion. Five states, as well as Washington D.C., still allow abortion without any restrictions.

What’s most interesting about this article is the admission that they can pivot their business model to serving pregnant women and ensuring healthy pregnancies:

“After Alabama enacted a sweeping ban on abortion, the Tuscaloosa clinic refocused on protecting newly pregnant people’s access to affordable prenatal healthcare.”

It’s admirable, but it betrays a fundamental truth about what abortion is: it’s the termination of human life. Not shocking to you, if you’re pro-life, but consider that this clinic CARES about ensuring access to prenatal care. Why does it matter if it’s just a clump of cells? Why would “it” need prenatal support if “it” has no value and isn’t human? The truth always bats last.

As for the facilities that have closed, we say: good riddance. For the unemployed who are now looking for work, we encourage you to completely leave the industry of death behind you and seek a life-affirming occupation instead.
