Students For Life Action Calls on Arkansas Legislators to Support SB 6 Urging the Reversal of Roe v. Wade & Protecting the Rights of Preborn Children

“SB6, the Arkansas Unborn Child Protection Act, is a bold statement of the truth that children in the womb are fellow human beings deserving of the full protection of the law,” said SFLAction’s Jacinta Florence.

LITTLE ROCK, AR (02-10-2021)
 – Students for Life Action’s Jacinta Florence participated in a press conference in support of SB 6, the Arkansas Unborn Child Protection Act, which will ensure the legal protection of Arkansas children from the moment of fertilization when Roe v. Wade is reversed.

Florence, Missouri and Arkansas Regional Coordinator for Students for Life of America/SFLAction, made the following statement:

“SB6, the Arkansas Unborn Child Protection Act, is a bold statement of the truth that children in the womb are fellow human beings deserving of the full protection of the law.

“Approximately 62 Million children in the United States alone have been killed in abortion since Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton were handed down by the Supreme Court 48 years ago in 1973.

“The so-called “right” to kill children in abortion teeters on this flimsy and immoral foundation, and it is long past time to overturn Roe once and for all…

“In 2019, nearly three thousand Arkansas children were killed in violent abortions — 2,963, to be exact. To put that in context, that is one child killed Arkansas every three hours. We support SB6 for THEM.

“There’s no humane way to kill an innocent child, but the way children die in abortion is unthinkably barbaric. At the earliest stages of pregnancy, when babies already have beating hearts, abortionists kill them by starving them to death with the Chemical Abortion Pill or suctioning them to death in surgical aspiration abortions. A few weeks further into gestation, the abortionist uses forceps to dismember the child limb from limb before removing her torso and crushing her skull. Even later in pregnancy, children are killed by being injected with chemicals that cause a heart attack before they are dismembered or delivered intact up to full term.

“And make no mistake: members of the Millennial and Gen Z generations, like me, are NOT all-in for abortion. In fact, January polling commissioned by Students for Life found that support for reversing Roe and Doe DOUBLED after 18- to -34-year-old voters learned that the rulings legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy and for any reason…

“Despite the inhumanity of abortion and its utter lack of unified support, the violence is legal in the United States because of one fatal day of Supreme Court rulings, handed down by seven men, that struck down protections for children in states like ours. Now it is our job, state by state, to rebuild those protections for preborn children… It is my hope that Arkansas will one day soon be completely abortion-free.”
